Warren County is a County located in the State of Tennessee . As of 2000 , the population is 38,276. Its County Seat is McMinnville 6 . GEOGRAPHY According to the U.S. Census Bureau , the county has a total area of 1,124 Km&2 (434 Mi&2 ). 1,121 km&2 (433 mi&2) of it is land and 4 km&2 (1 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 0.32% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 38,276 people, 15,181 households, and 10,824 families residing in the county. The Population Density was 34/km&2 (88/mi&2). There were 16,689 housing units at an average density of 15/km&2 (39/mi&2). The racial makeup of the county was 91.66% White , 3.16% Black or African American , 0.21% Native American , 0.42% Asian , 0.05% Pacific Islander , 3.56% from Other Races , and 0.94% from two or more races. 4.92% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 15,181 households out of which 31.90% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.20% were Married Couples living together, 11.20% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.70% were non-families. 25.00% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.50% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.93. In the county, the population was spread out with 24.20% under the age of 18, 9.10% from 18 to 24, 29.40% from 25 to 44, 23.40% from 45 to 64, and 13.90% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 96.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.70 males. The median income for a household in the county was $30,920, and the median income for a family was $37,835. Males had a median income of $28,409 versus $20,863 for females. The Per Capita Income for the county was $15,759. 16.60% of the population and 13.00% of families were below the Poverty Line . 20.40% of those under the age of 18 and 17.20% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
