Originally an independent British meat producer it expanded into ice cream for the summer months when sausage sales were low. Unilever acquired Walls in 1922 and today continues to use the brand for ice cream in the UK as well as in India and Malaysia . Walls Ice Cream's most well known product is the Cornetto . Walls main competitor in the Uk is Nestle 's ice cream and ice lollies which are now made under licence by Frederick's Dairies and were formerly sold under the Rowntree's and Lyons Maid brands.
