WMVT-TV (Channel 36) is a television station located in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Its signal covers most of southeastern Wisconsin, including the cities of Racine , Kenosha , Sheboygan , and Waukesha .

WMVT is a noncommercial public broadcasting station, which is a member of PBS . WMVT's owner, Milwaukee Area Technical College , also owns sister Milwaukee PBS affiliate WMVS . Both stations together refer to themselves collectively as ''Milwaukee Public Television''.

WMVT airs more Documentary , instructional, DIY , and News programming than WMVS' general PBS schedule, and is the Milwaukee affiliate for Wisconsin Public Television 's instructional telecourse programs for students and teachers.

WMVS' digital signal on Channel 8 (virtual channels 10-1 through 7) is used to multicast seven different channels; 2 channels devoted to a 3-hour delay of both WMVS and WMVT feeds, a telecourse and a children's programming channel, both provided by PBS, and three channels with Doppler Radar video from the Sullivan, Wisconsin National Weather Service office, and either Weatheradio , Classical Music or international news as audio on each of these channels. At times, one of the Doppler channels is used to feature a 24/7 video feed of the Nest of a Bald Eagle and its hatchlings somewhere in Northern Wisconsin.

WMVS does not use this channel for HDTV content, instead using WMVT's Channel 35-1 as their main high-quality HDTV channel for PBS Digital programs.
