Information About

Wkfb

WKFB is co-owned with WKHB (620), also near Pittsburgh.

In late 2005, veteran Pittsburgh radio personality/programmer Clarke Ingram was named Program Director of WKFB and WKHB . In January 2006, WKFB announced the hiring of legendary Pittsburgh oldies voice Porky Chedwick for a regular weekend program, airing Saturdays from Noon to 3 PM. Chedwick has since added a second show, Mondays at 5 PM.

HISTORY

For many years this station was WBCW (1530), later WKTW . Under new ownership, the frequency change to 770 was made in early 2004, giving the station much better coverage of the Pittsburgh market. The call letters WKFB were selected to be similar to sister station WKHB, with which it shares a number of programs.

Oldies programming began in earnest after the station's move to 770, with Caveman Ralph's Saturday-morning show. Since mid-2005, WKFB's oldies programming has expanded from a few hours on Saturday to almost 60 hours per week.
