The Walt Disney World Dolphin is located between Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios next to Disney's BoardWalk Resort area. The Epcot resort opened it's doors in June of 1990 and offers deluxe room accommodations. The Dolphin is located on Disney property, although the hotel itself is operated and managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide . It is a Sheraton Hotels resort and sits across from it's sister resort, the Walt Disney World Swan . The exterior of the Dolphin can be distinguished from the Swan's by three main reasons. First there are two 56-foot Dolphin statues located on the roof rather than Swans. Second the clearly larger Dolphin has a 27-story triangular tower in the center of the 12-story main building(this is nowhere to be found on the Swan) and has four 9-story wings coming from the center as apposed to the two 7-story ones on the Swan. Lastly on the main colored Facade there is a Turquoise banana-leaf pattern instead of a wave pattern. The Dolphin and the Swan each have 17 Restaurants (like ''Shula's Steak House'' and '' Todd English 's BlueZoo'') and Lounge s. The Dolphin and Swan are not only popular with families and vacationers but are also popular with conventioneers each boasts over 329,000 square feet of meeting space. INFORMATION
