Walt Disney Cartoon Classics was a series of cartoon compilations from Disney . It was their first attempt to put cartoons on home video. The first 14 volumes, from 1984-1985, came with 6 or 7 cartoons, opened with the "Walt Disney Home Video" fanfare cut off by the slogan "The Magic Lives on Walt Disney Home Video" and then a wordless melody. The titles of all 14 volumes are as follows.
In the mid 80's the "Limited Gold Editions" 1 and 2 came out with a historical introduction rather than a so called "Wordless Melody". Each video, like the first series, had 6 or 7 cartoons with the exception's of "How the best was won: 1933-1960" which had 5 cartoons and "Disney's Best: The Fabulous 50's" which had 4 cartoons. The 14 titles are as follows.
Wrapping up the rest of the batch, the 14 volumes, as well as the "Special Edition" series, and the love themed videos although they aren't under the "Cartoon Classics" banner, which featured 3 or 4 shorts were as follows.
