Vienna is located at 37°24'58" North, 88°53'39" West (37.416103, -88.894268).

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,234 people, 560 households, and 309 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 212.7/km&² (550.8/mi&²). There were 607 housing units at an average density of 104.6/km&² (270.9/mi&²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.89% White , 0.08% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.08% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.81% from Other Races , and 1.13% from two or more races. 1.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 560 households out of which 27.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.5% were Married Couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 44.8% were non-families. 41.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.12 and the average family size was 2.89.
