Pacific Coliseum is an Indoor Arena at 100 North Renfrew Street in Vancouver, British Columbia . Completed in 1967 at the site of the Pacific National Exhibition , the arena seats 16,150 for Ice Hockey . It was the home of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL from 1970 - 1995 and the Vancouver Blazers of the WHA from 1973 - 1975 . It hosted WCW New Blood Rising in 2000. Today, the arena is the home of the Vancouver Giants of the WHL , as well as the host of a variety of events and concerts. It has been chosen as the venue for Figure Skating in the 2010 Winter Olympics . The most noteable sporting event to take place in the arena is game 6 of the 1994 Stanley Cup final between the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks won the game 4-1, but then lost the series to New York 3-2. After the loss, many Vancouver residents went out to Robson street, and began rioting. EXTERNAL LINKS |
