Information About

Friday Orange

Friday Orange could be classified under the umbrella of the Indie music scene, and an example of the genre's autonomous, do-it-yourself (DIY) approach. The project is also an example of a unique and recent approach to music production using a home studio -- and one performer composing, performing and producing the music simply for free online distribution.

Friday Orange is usually spelled by Brandon with no capital letters, and followed by a period.

From 2000 to 2003, the project consisted mostly of demo recordings. Brandon occasionally played acoustic versions of songs while playing with the acoustic-cover band ''Chris & Travis'' throughout Lawrence and the University Of Kansas -- where both him and Travis Langner were students. An early Friday Orange song entitled "Plane" became a favorite among many who attended these shows, which took place at such Lawrence-classic nightspots as The Wagon Wheel Cafe, Abe & Jake's Landing and the Granada Theatre -- the same theatre where Emo band The Get Up Kids recorded their 2005 album, Live At The Granada Theatre .

In 2005, Brandon established 'Orange Studios' at his current home in New York City 's East Village , and began work on new Friday Orange songs such as ''"Along The Alpha One"'', ''"Flow It", "Wheelside"'' and ''"Tripped By The Shore"''. Friday Orange is also known for recording cover songs, which include versions of Pat Benetar 's ''"Love Is A Battlefield"'' and Lionel Richie 's ''"Running With The Night".''

Friday Orange plans to release its first song of 2006 entitled ''"Sleeper"'' in early May 2006. Brandon is also planning on forming a new musical project called ''The Amber Line Project'' with college friend Spencer Cryder.
