Francis Baring, 6th Baron Northbrook

The son of Francis John Baring, 5th Baron Northbrook and Rowena Margaret Manning, Northbrook took his seat in the House Of Lords on the death of his father in 1990 . He is now one of the ninety Hereditary Peers who remain in the House Of Lords after the House Of Lords Act of 1999 . Lord Northbrook sits on the Conservative benches and was an Opposition Whip in the House Of Lords from 1999 to 2000 .

In 1990 Lord Northbrook married Amelia Sharon Elizabeth Taylor. They had three daughters, but were later divorced. As of today, there is no heir to the Barony of Northbrook. However, there is an heir to the Baronetcy also held by Lord Northbrook, namely his distant relative Peter Baring.

The Baron's home, Woodlands Farm , Bramdean , Hampshire , was destroyed by fire on 4 December 2005 .
