The shower is visible from late April to early May each year with peak activity on May 4 th. The Eta Aquarids get their name because their Radiant appears to lie in the Constellation Aquarius , near one of the constellation's brightest stars, Eta Aquarii . The Eta Aquarids aren't one of the best meteor showers, peaking at a dozen meteors per hour. In 2005 , the shower was favorably viewable because it occurred near a New Moon . The Eta Aquarids are best viewed in the pre-dawn hours away from the glow of city lights. EXTERNAL LINK |
