The show was produced by Pt. Unggul Cipta Piranti, and directed by Sukma Romadhon. The studio dubbing was done by Prathivi Recording. These names do not come from Japan, China, or Korea, but somewhere else in Asia. A list of its characters and the people who play them is: "Mahadewa" is played by Rusli; "Permaisuri," by Fransisca; "Nawamg Wulan," by Ajeng Kusumastuti; "Mayang Sari," by Ivone Rose; "Joyo Kusumo," by Ferry Fadly; "Kembang Joyo," by M. Aboed; "Jin Setai," by Suryadin Tanjung; "Jin Pakai," by Asriati; "Jin Gumarang," by Bambang Jegger; "Jin Argo," by Naryo Item; and "Jin Lor" is played by Fransisca Jawa. Now the first name "Mahadewa" is clearly a form of "Mahadeva," or "Great God," at term used in Hindi to refer to many gods, but especially Siva, the destroyer. Third on the list is the name "Wulan," which on the box has been Anglicized to "King William." Fourth on the list is the name "Sari," who is the female lead also listed on the box. From Gertrude Jobes's ''Dictionary of Mythology, Folklore, and Symbols'' (The Scarecrow Press, New York: 1962) comes the following reference: Batara Guru or Bhattara Guru is a Sumatran sky god. The story is that of the two brothers, Mega and Batara, who have flying horses and search for a special sword. Most likely this film is a presentation of an Asian myth, but the details are unclear. |
