Ancient Empires is an educational Computer Game by The Learning Company designed to teach children history and problem solving. The player must navigate through twenty caverns, recovering pieces of artifacts to advance to the next level.


GAMEPLAY


The player has three items. The first, the miner's hat, shines a beam of light that paralyzes enemies and flips switches. Numerous prisms and mirrors deflect the light, and several challenges involve properly rotating the beams to hit a specific sensor.

The second item are the jump boots, which hoist the player much higher than a normal jump.

Finally, the player has four forcefields that prevent all damage for a specified amount of time.

Upon collecting six pieces of the artifact, the player must solve a puzzle by orienting and placing the pieces in the proper configuration. Afterwards, he must find the exit door and solve a logic puzzle to advance.
