Allan Fitzgibbon

Fitzgibbon played for the Balmain Tigers between 1968 and 1970 , and appeared in the 1969 where the Tigers famously won in an upset against the South Sydney Rabbitohs . He coached Dapto between 1971 and 1981 , and represented Country in 1973 .

In 1982 , Fitzgibbon became the first coach of the Illawarra Steelers and guided the team through their first two seasons in the NSWRL . He would also coach the Cronulla Sharks between 1988 and 1991 . In 1995 , he became the caretaker coach of the Steelers following the sacking of Graham Murray .

Fitzgibbon is the father of current Australian test player Craig Fitzgibbon .
