Zango is a company focused on building a Content Economy . While they are viewed as Adware by many, they have a current focus on using Time Shifted Advertising to support the Long Tail of content available on the Internet today. Because of their distribution methods they have been targeted by people that want to profit from including their products with a Rootkit or other non-consensual forms of installation. They market their games, videos and software via advertisements on various search engines and ask the user to approve the installation of the "Zango Search Assistant" software which delivers the advertisements and supports the free content. Their products are also distributed by independent distributors for a fee per installation. Recently they have sponsored content with some very high profile partners like Warner Bros . This content ranges from Internet Soap Operas like the new Deception series, to 1-2 minute video shorts like Medical Island. They also sponsor all types of Video Games and Macromedia Flash content.
