William P. Alston (born 1921) is professor emeritus at Syracuse University , and has been influential as an Epistemologist of the twentieth century. He earned his PhD from the University Of Chicago and taught for many years at the University Of Michigan .
His views on Foundationalism and Internalism Versus Externalism , among many other topics, have been very influential. Alston has also done important work in Philosophy Of Language , Philosophy Of Religion , History Of Philosophy and other fields. Alston is counted among the Analytic Philosophers .

Together with other philosophers ( and was one of the core figures in the late 20th centry revival of the philosophy of religion.
