GEOGRAPHY

Warsaw is located at 40°21'19" North, 91°25'59" West (40.355173, -91.432928).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 19.4 Km&² (7.5 Mi&² ). 17.1 km&² (6.6 mi&²) of it is land and 2.3 km&² (0.9 mi&²) of it is water. The total area is 11.62% water.

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,793 people, 726 households, and 500 families residing in the city. The Population Density was 104.6/km&² (271.0/mi&²). There were 807 housing units at an average density of 47.1/km&² (122.0/mi&²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.77% White , 0.11% African American , 0.17% Native American , 0.00% Asian , 0.17% Pacific Islander , 0.06% from Other Races , and 0.73% from two or more races. 0.89% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 726 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% were Married Couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.02.

In the city the population was spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males.
