The brewery was founded in 1985 and takes its name from the ill-fated steam liner ''Titanic'' , whose captain Edward Smith hailed from the region.

Its regular range of beers include

The bottled Titanic stout won the Champion Bottled Beer of 2004 and won the Bronze in the same category in 2005 at the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival .
