Maurice Ferber and Tiedemann Giese were priests at the Catholic St. Peter and Paul church, before Gdańsk and the church became protestant reformed. In 1519 he received the noble status of ( Szlachcic ). Bishop Tiedemann Giese was the closest friend of the Polish administrator and churchman Nicolaus Copernicus , who lived in Warmia as well and after his death became known as astronomer. Copernicus willed his writings to Giese and left the Copernican library to the Warmia church administration. LITERATURE
