The first in the world to use Hitachi 's "Small" straddle-type monorail, Sentosa Express will have 2.1 kilometres of double track connecting HarbourFront Station on the mainland to Sentosa Station , Merlion Station and Palawan Station on the resort island of Sentosa . Construction started in 2003 and completion is targeted for June 2006 . While LRT -like in nature, it has not been constructed by the Land Transport Authority and is thus not considered a part of Singapore's MRT /LRT network. SEE ALSO
