There has been human habitation there since at least Roman times. The village church, dedicated to St Mary, was built probably in the 13th century. There is a green, and a leisure centre called The Triangle including a swimming pool. Very nearby is the highly reccommended Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum, which includes the following attractions: ~Motor Museum of old cars. ~Large ponds full of native and exotic ducks, geese and flamingoes. ~Cafe. ~Gift shop. ~Miniature railway that you can ride on. ~Forest which, every year, holds a woodland crafts festival.
