On June 18 , 1898 , elevated trains began using the station, which had previously been used only for special trains running the length of the bridge. On March 5 , 1944 , elevated lines stopped using it, but Streetcar s were shifted to the elevated tracks and used them until 1950 , when all Transit was removed from the bridge.
