Much of Nordaustlandet lies under large Ice Cap s, Austfonna ( Europe 's largest glacier), Vestfonna and Sørfonna , the remaining parts of the north being Tundra inhabited by Reindeer and Walrus es. Austfonna is the third biggest inland Glacier in the world (after Antarctica and Greenland ), being up to 560 metres (nearly 300 m in average) thick and 200 km in circumference.
