Field was one of "the children of the Queen's Revels," who performed in Ben Jonson 's '' Cynthia's Revels '' in 1600 and was a member of The King's Men , 1615 - 1619; he is listed (as Nathan Field) as one of the "Principall Actors" in the Shakespeare First Folio . He wrote '' A Woman's A Weathercock '' (1612), '' Amends For Ladies '' (1618), and (with Philip Massinger ) '' The Fatal Dowry '' (published 1632). He also wrote a defence of the stage. He had a reputation as a ladies' man and left the King's Men after he fathered a child by the Countess of Argyll.Appeared as main character in a book by Cooper. |
