Between 1886 and 1944 , the Bulgarian national anthem was '' Shumi Maritsa '' (''"Шуми Марица"''). LYRICS The last verse is omitted on official occasions. During Communist Rule , an additional verse was added in 1964 that referred to Moscow (under direct instructions of Todor Zhivkov ), the Bulgarian Communist Party and the "victorious regime". After the democratic changes in 1989 , this part of the anthem was removed. AUDIO SAMPLE : Bulgarian national anthem (MP3) (''"Mila Rodino"'') EXTERNAL LINKS |
