The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are a Minor League Baseball club based in Niles, Ohio , a city in the valley of the Mahoning River . The Scrappers play in the Pinckney Division of the short-season Class A New York - Penn League and are affiliated with the Cleveland Indians Major League Baseball club. In 2004 , they won the New York - Penn League championship. The Scrappers' home field is Eastwood Field , opened in 1999 as ''Cafaro Field'', located behind the Eastwood Mall on U.S. Highway 422 .
