León Febres Cordero (born 1931 ) was President of Ecuador for a four-year term 10 August 1984 to 10 August 1988 . He has been credited with helping to stop Terrorism in Ecuador and improving the economy at his presidency. Later he became the mayor of Guayaquil for two terms ( 1992 - 2000 ) and then run successfully for a seat in Ecuador's unicameral legislative chamber. He is a member of the political party, Partido Social Cristiano , which he still leads. |
