The knobs are so named because along the ridges lines are large, circular bulges around 10'-30' higher in elevation than the rest of the ridge. The appearance of the region varies along its length, with narrow, v shaped ridges south of the Louisville area to flat, wide ridges farther southeast. In Casey County and Lincoln County, the ridge tops are wide and flat enough that they are used for farming. EXTERNAL LINKS |
