Three Kingdoms Of Korea . According to Japanese accounts, he was an illegitimate child.
The traditional dates of Biyu's rule are based on the ''
Samguk Sagi ''. On the basis of more contemporaneous Chinese records, Best (1979) has suggested that the years

455 are more plausible.
In
430 , Chinese chronicles record a tribute mission arriving at the
Song Dynasty court from King Biyu. The court then confirmed Biyu in the titles conferred upon his father. Additional tribute missions were sent in
