In 1977 , ''Plastic Letters'', Blondie 's second album on Chrysalis Records was released. It contained two top ten UK singles, and was the last Blondie album to be produced by Richard Gottehrer .

" Denis " is a cover of the classic 1963 hit, " Denise ", by Randy & The Rainbows . It was a hit all over Europe; reaching Number 2 in February 1978 in the United Kingdom.

" (I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear " was the second single from the album, reaching number 10 in May 1978. The song was written by Bass Guitar player Gary Valentine , shortly before his departure from the band, just before the album was released.

"Kidnapper" was a hit in Japan .
