Information About

John Hejduk

Hejduk is associated with several schools of architecture, including The New York Five , and The Texas Rangers .

Hejduk’s style evolved throughout his career, but he consistently focused on the relationship between the shapes and objects of his buildings and their surroundings. His work grew from a narrow set of themes and variations exploring cubes, grids, and frames, through an examination of square grids placed within diagonal containers set against an occasional curving wall, and finally evolving into a series of experiments with flat planes and curved masses in various combinations and colors (1).

Hejduk was dean of the Cooper Union School Of Art And Architecture from 1975 to 2000.

A large portion of his work is archived at the Canadian Centre For Architecture in Montreal .
