Information About

Jaguar Knight

A jaguar warrior (less commonly, '''jaguar knight''') refers to certain members of the Aztec Army that were professional Soldier s. These soldiers would be classified as Special Forces with the distinction of either jaguar or Eagle Warrior s. These two Totem s were used due to the belief that the Eagle and Jaguar represented the sun and moon respectively. There are many Pre-Columbian Statue s and images of these warriors in Codices .

Jaguar warriors were feared by their opponents in battle. The warriors used Uniform s made from jaguar Skin to create this fear. A warrior who had captured 4 to 5 Prisoners in battle was usually given the title of "jaguar". Live prisoners were the most important prize during Battle , since they provided Human Sacrifice s for the Aztec s. In order to get these prisoners, warriors struck their enemies in the legs to Debilitate instead of landing fatal blows. Prisoners lived in the care of their captors until it was time for the sacrifice. The special forces gave warriors a feeling of Nobility and displayed the warrior's strength and importance to others.

Unlike the eagle warrior, the jaguar knights were the Spies of the army. They would surveilled cities to discover their weaknesses. Then the Eagle warriors would strike, and the Jaguars would surround the city.
