GEOGRAPHY


Humboldt is located at 43°38'42" North, 97°4'28" West (43.644933, -97.074320).

According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 1.6 Km&2 (0.6 Mi&2 ). 1.6 km&2 (0.6 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 521 people, 200 households, and 148 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 319.3/km&2 (831.0/mi&2). There were 210 housing units at an average density of 128.7/km&2 (335.0/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 96.74% White , 0.00% African American , 1.73% Native American , 0.58% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.19% from Other Races , and 0.77% from two or more races. 0.19% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 200 households out of which 42.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.0% were Married Couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% were non-families. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the town the population was spread out with 31.7% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 31.1% from 25 to 44, 15.9% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
