The municipality of Houten consists of the following cities, towns, villages and/or districts: 't Goy (pop. 606 as of 2002 ), Houten (pop. 38,062), Schalkwijk (pop. 1,946), Tull En 't Waal (pop. 665).


THE TOWN HOUTEN


The main town of the municipality is Houten. It lies about 9 km southeast of Utrecht .

In 2001, the town of Houten had 32243 inhabitants. TRANSPORTATION


A tram operates between Houten Railway Station and Houten Castellum, running parallel to the railway. This is a temporary measure until the railway itself is widened with more tracks. This service is Line 23, Train Series 9000. See also Transport In The Netherlands .
