García I (''c.'' 871 – 914 ) was King Of León from 910 until his death and one of three succeeding sons of Alfonso III The Great by his wife Amulina Of Navarre (later called Jimena). Upon Alfonso's death in 910, his sons divided the Kingdom Of Asturias . León went to García, Galicia to Ordoño , and Asturias to Fruela . Asturian primacy was nevertheless recognised. At his death in Zamora he had no heirs and his kingdom passed to Ordoño. EXTERNAL LINK |
