Information AboutFaro Airport (portugal) |
|
The airport handles a large number of passengers from all over Europe especially the UK, Germany, Holland and Italy. Most of the "low cost airlines" such as Easyjet , Monarch , Jet2.com and Flybe all offer direct flights to Faro throughout the year. The main Airport Terminal is spread over two floors with the main check in desks and arrivals area on the ground floor. Within the terminal building there are a good number of places to eat and drink including a roof top cafe which is open from April to October each year. To get to the roof top cafe you need to climb the stairs or catch the lift from the main arrivals hall. As with most tourist airports there are a large number of car hire companies operating out of Faro Airport and the main taxi rank can be found just outside the terminal building. The buses offer a limited service into the main bus depot at Faro. The transfer times to most of the resorts along the Algarve are normally less than an hour. As a guide Almancil is 20 minutes, Vilamoura 30 minutes, Albuferia 45 minutes and Portimão is around an hour. If you intend to leave your car at Faro Airport there are a number of car parks to choose from and depending on how long you intend to stay there depends on which car park you should use. Car Park 1 is for dropping people off in departures, Car Park 2 is for long term parking and Car Park 3 is for collecting people in the arrivals hall. Faro Airport offers car hire on the following websites: www.faro-car-hire.co.uk and www.algarve-carhire.net EXTERNAL LINKS |
