East Bank is located at 38°13'1" North, 81°26'39" West (38.217023, -81.444112).

DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the Census of 2000, there were 933 people, 373 households, and 276 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 750.5/km&² (1,958.0/mi&²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.82% White , 0.96% African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.11% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.11% from two or more races. 0.11% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 373 households out of which 27.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were Married Couples living together, 14.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.95.

In the town the population was spread out with 22.7% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 26.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
