The title was created again in the Peerage Of Great Britain in 1714 for Thomas Pelham-Holles, 2nd Baron Pelham , with the subsidiary title of Viscount Haughton. He was further created Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Marquess of Clare, and then also Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne and finally Baron Pelham, but both Clare titles (along with the original Barony of Pelham and the Dukedom of Newcastle-upon-Tyne) became extinct on his death. The title was also created in the Peerage Of Ireland in 1795 for John FitzGibbon, 1st Viscount FitzGibbon , the Lord Chancellor Of Ireland . The 1st Earl was subsequently also created Baron FitzGibbon in the Peerage of Great Britain. EARLS OF CLARE, PEERAGE OF ENGLAND ( 1624 – 1711 )
