Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is a conservative Evangelical graduate-level Theological Seminary located in Dallas , Texas . It has been known for many years as the academic center of Christian Dispensationalism . DTS has extension campuses in several other cities (and online education offered for some courses). DTS was founded by Lewis Sperry Chafer in 1924. Chafer served as president until his death in 1952, whereupon John F. Walvoord replaced Chafer. Walvoord oversaw massive growth of DTS until he retired in 1986, at which time DTS had become one of the largest Protestant seminaries in the world. Donald K. Campbell replaced Walvoord and presided until his resignation in 1994, at which time internationally known host of "Insight for Living" and DTS graduate Chuck Swindoll became president. Swindoll reduced his title to 'chancellor' in 2001 and was replaced by the current President Mark Bailey. Accreditation While DTS started in 1924, it first received Accredited status in 1994 by the Association Of Theological Schools In The United States And Canada , and by the Southern Association Of Colleges And Schools . {Link without Title} Dallas Theological Seminary People Faculty Alumni
