Crioulo (horse)

The Crioulo is a breed of horse from the Rio Grande Do Sul in Brazil . It was developed from Portuguese stock beginning in the 16th century, and is also known as a '''''Nordestino''''', '''''Crioulo Brasileiro''''', a '''''Curraleiro''''', or '''''Sertanejo'''''. The breed is well adapted to living and working on the Pampas , where it is used in driving cattle both on the range and in the Corral . In the mid twentieth century, the breed had gone into decline and a rescue operation was conducted to bring it back to a healthy level.
