Clay Frisian has been the primary dialect of written Frisian since the nineteenth century as a result of the overwhelming number of Frisian speakers being from the northwest region of Frisia . Historically, this region has been the centre of commerce and politics, contributing to Clay Frisian's primacy. Compared to other Frisian Dialect s, there are few if any differences in Morphology in Syntax , but slight variances in Lexis .
