Cheriton is a district of Folkestone , Kent , England , best known as the site of the Channel Tunnel terminal. It is also a military garrison and at time of writing (2005) a Gurkha unit is based at Shorncliffe Barracks . In Cheriton is one of the main schools in Shepway - Pent Valley Technology College.
