Charles De Bourbon, Comte De Soissons




Born in Nogent-le-Rotrou , he joined the Catholic League during the French Wars Of Religion (although the rest of his family was Protestant ), but was later won over by his cousin Henri IV ( 1587 ) who later converted to Catholicism.

Henri IV made him governor of the Province of Brittany ( 1589 ), and later of the province of Dauphiné ( 1602 ). Governor of the province of Normandy in 1610 , he opposed the policy of the regent Marie De Médicis , widow of Henri IV.

He died in Blandy ( Seine-et-Marne '' Département '') in 1612 .
