Central European Summer Time ('''CEST''') is one of the names of UTC+2 Time Zone , 2 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time . It is used as a summer Daylight Saving Time in most Europe an and some North Africa n countries. During the winter, they use Central European Time ( UTC+1 ). Central European Summer Time used to be also known under other names, such as Middle European Summer Time (MEST). Usage The following countries and territories use Central European Summer Time during the summer, between 1:00 UTC on the Last Sunday Of March and 1:00 UTC on the last Sunday of October. (Note that CEST is commonly referred to, in those countries which use it, as CET, for simplicity. i.e. a one hour positive offset from UK time throughout the year.)
