Information About

Bufalo

Bufalo comes in three varieties, Chipotle , Red Jalapeno , and Original ( Chile Pepper ). Like most Mexican sauces, Bufalo focuses on flavor more than simply on heat. The sauce is thicker than the typical American hot sauce, but not as thick as Ketchup , similar to many Steak Sauces . The flavor lacks the vinegary taste typical of the lower priced sauces made in the USA. Bufalo also sells Tampico brand sauces in Chipotle, Original, and Habanero . The sauces come in smaller bottles and is slightly upmarket from Bufalo. Bufalo sauce is similar to most hot sauces in terms of heat level, the sauces are not as hot as Tabasco Sauce , but compare to Texas Pete , Louisiana Hot Sauce , or Frank's Red Hot .

Bufalo has gained popularity due to mainstream grocers beginning to carry products once found only in Mexican ethnic grocery stores. Bufalo sauce moved to the shelves of the average grocery and has found a new audience. While most American grocers carry English label sauce, the Bufalo name is always in Spanish, not the English " Buffalo ".
