The acronym is used by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to denote initial meetings of members interested in a particular issue. The term is also used by Computer Science professionals at gatherings such as industry conferences to describe a meeting in which a topic of specific interest is discussed. Such meetings are referred to as ''Birds-of-a-Feather Meetings'', or simply as ''BoFs''. The acronym also means Beginning Of File. In some places the term "BOF" is used as an insult. It means "band of freaks" and can be used to describe a person ("That kid is such a bof!") or a group of people ("Look at all the bofs dance."). The acronym also means Bags Of Flesh (BOF) referring to a woman's large breasts. SEE ALSO
