Located on 6119 Agra Street Bell Gardens, CA 90201 FACTS Bell Gardens is home to the Lancers School colors are cardinal grey and maroon. Bell Gardens High School is part of the Montebello Unified School District . RANKING Bell Gardens ranks 915 in America's Best High Schools according to Newsweek magazine. {Link without Title} ATHLETICS BGHS offers many sports programs which include, football, cross country, boys and girls volleyball, tennis, water polo, boys and girls basketball, girls water polo, boys and girls soccer, wrestling, baseball, track softball, golf, and swimming. Football games are held in Lancer Stadium. RIOTS In 2001, BGHS experienced a walkout which later escalated into a riot. It all started when rumors were flying around the school that cameras would be placed in the school's bathrooms. The rumor sent school wide panic, as some students planned to walkout because of this supossed plan. An altercation between a student and security gaurd triggered to what would be the BGHS riots in which student hijacked security cars and turned over tables. As a result, students were let out of early to prevent any more drama. In the end the rumor was not true, and several students were suspended from school. This incident is somewhat memorable in BGHS's history. NEW BUILDING After years and years of building along with broken promises, BGHS's new three story building was finally opened on December 18th 2005. The buildings progress was lagging due to problems between the school and the construction agency, the buildng was originally supossed to open in 2001.
