Babati is a small city located in Tanzania , 172km south of Arusha . It is the capital of Manyara Region . Babati is also a district and is bordered to the North by the Arusha Region , to the Southeast by the Simanjiro District , to the South by the Dodoma Region , to the Southwest by the Hanang District , and to the Northwest by the Mbulu District . According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Babati District was 303,013. {Link without Title} The District Commissioner of the Babati District is Hadija R.R. Nyembo. {Link without Title} In 2003, King Edward VI Five Ways School in Birmingham , UK set up the Babati Link Group to promote educational links with Babati.
