Astorga ( Latin '''Asturica Augusta''') is a small cathedral city situated in the Province Of León of Spain . It lies southwest of the city of León, at 868 m above sea-level. It's the capital city of the council (''comarca'') of La Maragatería. It has an area of 47 km2 and river Tuerto flows though it. Its population (on 2004) is of about 12,207 people.
