Amuzgo is an Oto-Manguean language spoken in the eastern Guerrero and western Oaxaca states of Mexico .

Amuzgo is a Tonal Language with a strong Monosyllabic tendency, much like Chinese or Vietnamese . Amuzgo has about 30,000 speakers and according to Ethnologue it has three dialects. The dialect in the village of San Pedro Amuzgos has 8 tones.

The name Amuzgo is apparently Nahuatl in origin.
